Sixteen UFO Cases Reported on Earthquake Night in Chile | UFO Digest provides video proof of ufos, alien abduction and the paranormal.

Apparently there were numerous UFO sightings in Chile the night of and shortly after the giant earthquake:

The earthquake was followed by a boom in UFO sightings, but sixteen cases occurred on the night of the tragedy alone (some of them accompanied by significant visual material) which have been subjected to study by UFO researchers.

Researcher Rodrigo Fuenzalida told Publimetro that the highest concentrations of reports appear to be Las Condes, Peñalolén, Providencia and Colina. "We have eyewitness testimony from a couple that refused to sleep in their apartment on the night of the earthquake, choosing instead to spend the early morning hours in the street. They were able to see an object that looked much like the moon, but immediately realized that the moon was on the other side. This event may have been seen by residents of other communes," said Fuenzalida.

Another major sighting took place on Isla Robinson Crusoe, part of the Juan Fernandez Archipelago, where people witnessed an object emerging from the sea shortly before the earthquake.

Regarding the case involving a humanoid -- reported by passengers on a bus in Iquique -- Fuenzalida notes that while startling, he is aware of other similar cases, but people "do not dare report them, fearing that they will not be believed.

"I've heard of the manifestations of these "luminous men", said the ufologist. "We are in an ideal period for sightings. I would ask everyone to be alert, but be mindful to avoid confusion, or a state of hysteria."

Brazil UFO Sighting - 'Contact Between Them and Us is Inevitable'

Brazil UFO Sighting - 'Contact Between Them and Us is Inevitable'

So this dude says....

I received an email recently from A. J. Gevaerd, editor of the Brazilian UFO magazine, providing information on an interview he conducted with Retired Brazilian Army Lieutenant-Colonel Leo Tércio Sperb.

The interview concerns the involvement of the military in a UFO incident in 1977 (the same year Operation Saucer occurred in the Amazon).

Apart from some small grammatical changes to the translated version received, the following information has not been altered in any other way.

Lieutenant-Colonel Leo Tércio Sperb revealed that this new found incident took place when he held the highly important position as commander for the 2nd Frontier Battalion, in the city Cáceres, state of Mato Grosso, West of Brazil.

The former military commander reported that in mid 1977 he was informed by his men that a small settlement located somewhere in the middle of the Cuiabá-Cáceres Road was highly excited about sightings of a strange and recurring luminous object that appeared predominantly at night. Having always been open to UFO issues, and seeing the reports were significant, he sent a man to do some preliminary investigations.

Captain Abrão (full name unknown) was commissioned to go to the site, talk to witnesses and collect as much data as possible and also physical evidence of whatever was happening in the mentioned location. One piece of evidence found and retrieved was a sandal with burn marks similar to the burns caused by a welder's torch, found in the center of a vast circular area of burnt vegetation left by the object, according to the astonished witnesses. They also reported that the UFO was regular on those nights.

On returning to the 2nd Frontier Battalion, Captain Abrão reported the facts to Lieutenant-Colonel Sperb and handed over his report as well as the collected evidence, which led Sperb to conclude that something serious was happening in the area. The commander then gathered a troop of four men to be sent immediately to the spot: one corporal and three soldiers. They received express orders to keep a stake-out in specific places in the woods close to the village, according to the witnesses' guidance, so they could have a full view of the unidentified flying object and photograph it as it moved.

By the end of the week, the troop was successful in documenting the observation of spherical UFOs, brightly lit and exactly like described by the villagers. Several black-and-white pictures were taken and handed over to the commander, who concluded the troop's mission was done. The photos would show lights similar to those in pictures obtained by the Operation Saucer (see image used for this article). Lieutenant-Colonel Leo Tércio Sperb wrote up a report, attached the photos and collected evidence, and forwarded them all to the Army Corps in Corumbá, state of Mato Grosso do Sul, to which his Corps was subordinate.

The former military commander reported that after the troop withdrew, the UFOs apparently did not trouble the villagers again. He added that he never got any reply to his report from headquarters in Corumbá.

With this incident, collected by the Brazilian UFO Magazine - that goes after witnesses and evidence wherever they may be - the Brazilian UFO community now have one more UFO incident definitely involving military forces in the country, in the course of which Army men on an official mission and using official resources of that force not only witnessed but also registered the occurrence of a phenomena considered of extraordinary origin. Other important military to give full statements to the Brazilian UFO Magazine are brigadier José Carlos Pereira and former Aeronautics minister brigadier Sócrates Monteiro.

When asked about his personal view of the alien presence on Earth, Lieutenant-Colonel Leo Tércio Sperb demonstrated that he belongs to a lineage of Brazilian military that is quite open and prepared to face the reality of the UFO Phenomenon. He asserted that he thinks "there's no question about the existence of other intelligences in contact with Earth's humankind", and that "contact between them and us is inevitable and will definitely happen in the future".

My thanks to the Brazilian UFO Magazine for forwarding this information. You can read more UFO and Alien articles on a special page created by Newsblaze HERE.

China UFO Stops Traffic... hello, what evidence do we need?

ALthough many are already calling it a 'military application' (?) or aircraft, there's no doubt that a UFO interrupted traffic at a major Chinese aircraft a few days ago. Eighteen flights were delayed, grounded, or diverted at Xiaoshan Airport in Hangzhou, Chinaa week ago (July 14, 2010). Some Chinese observers scoffed and claimed they had to be military planes, but individual's experiences indicated something different:
"Fueling speculations further, Hangzhou residents released photos, taken in the afternoon before the delays, of a hovering object bathed in golden light and exhibiting a comet-like tail. Less than an hour before the Xiaoshan airport shut down, residents said they also saw a flying object emitting red and white rays of light.

Commenters pointed out just a tiny logical fallacy: ""It is a hidden U.S. bomber flying toward China," Yeah because we spend billions to develop stealth technology only to attach giant #### lights to them...harleygannon 9:46 PM"
We note that it generally takes a LOT to get a UFO story into ABC, here are a few other links:

Area51 Insiders Come Forward

I've done something I haven't been doing, which is reprint the article from the times in its entirety. I've noticed a lot of newspapers move their stories after a few weeks and this was interesting enough I didn't want the link to just wind up broken like so many others. I'll probably start doing this going forward as I've noticed a lot of the stuff I posted a while back is already broken. :(

The Road to Area 51
After decades of denying the facility's existence, five former insiders speak out

by Annie Jacobsen

Area 51. It's the most famous military institution in the world that doesn't officially exist. If it did, it would be found about 100 miles outside Las Vegas in Nevada's high desert, tucked between an Air Force base and an abandoned nuclear testing ground.

Then again, maybe not-- the U.S. government refuses to say. You can't drive anywhere close to it, and until recently, the airspace overhead was restricted--all the way to outer space. Any mention of Area 51 gets redacted from official documents, even those that have been declassified for decades.

It has become the holy grail for conspiracy theorists, with UFOlogists positing that the Pentagon reverse engineers flying saucers and keeps extraterrestrial beings stored in freezers. Urban legend has it that Area 51 is connected by underground tunnels and trains to other secret facilities around the country. In 2001, Katie Couric told Today Show audiences that 7 percent of Americans doubt the moon landing happened--that it was staged in the Nevada desert. Millions of X-Files fans believe the truth may be "out there," but more likely it's concealed inside Area 51's Strangelove-esque hangars--buildings that, though confirmed by Google Earth, the government refuses to acknowledge.

The problem is the myths of Area 51 are hard to dispute if no one can speak on the record about what actually happened there. Well, now, for the first time, someone is ready to talk--in fact, five men are, and their stories rival the most outrageous of rumors. Colonel Hugh "Slip" Slater, 87, was commander of the Area 51 base in the 1960s. Edward Lovick, 90, featured in "What Plane?" in LA's March issue, spent three decades radar testing some of the world's most famous aircraft (including the U-2, the A-12 OXCART and the F-117). Kenneth Collins, 80, a CIA experimental test pilot, was given the silver star. Thornton "T.D." Barnes, 72, was an Area 51 special-projects engineer. And Harry Martin, 77, was one of the men in charge of the base's half-million-gallon monthly supply of spy-plane fuels. Here are a few of their best stories--for the record:

On May 24, 1963, Collins flew out of Area 51's restricted airspace in a top-secret spy plane code-named OXCART, built by Lockheed Aircraft Corporation. He was flying over Utah when the aircraft pitched, flipped and headed toward a crash. He ejected into a field of weeds.

Almost 46 years later, in late fall of 2008, sitting in a coffee shop in the San Fernando Valley, Collins remembers that day with the kind of clarity the threat of a national security breach evokes: "Three guys came driving toward me in a pickup. I saw they had the aircraft canopy in the back. They offered to take me to my plane." Until that moment, no civilian without a top-secret security clearance had ever laid eyes on the airplane Collins was flying. "I told them not to go near the aircraft. I said it had a nuclear weapon on-board." The story fit right into the Cold War backdrop of the day, as many atomic tests took place in Nevada. Spooked, the men drove Collins to the local highway patrol. The CIA disguised the accident as involving a generic Air Force plane, the F-105, which is how the event is still listed in official records.

As for the guys who picked him up, they were tracked down and told to sign national security nondisclosures. As part of Collins' own debriefing, the CIA asked the decorated pilot to take truth serum. "They wanted to see if there was anything I'd for-gotten about the events leading up to the crash." The Sodium Pento-thal experience went without a hitch--except for the reaction of his wife, Jane.

"Late Sunday, three CIA agents brought me home. One drove my car; the other two carried me inside and laid me down on the couch. I was loopy from the drugs. They handed Jane the car keys and left without saying a word." The only conclusion she could draw was that her husband had gone out and gotten drunk. "Boy, was she mad," says Collins with a chuckle.

At the time of Collins' accident, CIA pilots had been flying spy planes in and out of Area 51 for eight years, with the express mission of providing the intelligence to prevent nuclear war. Aerial reconnaissance was a major part of the CIA's preemptive efforts, while the rest of America built bomb shelters and hoped for the best.

"It wasn't always called Area 51," says Lovick, the physicist who developed stealth technology. His boss, legendary aircraft designer Clarence L. "Kelly" Johnson, called the place Paradise Ranch to entice men to leave their families and "rough it" out in the Nevada desert in the name of science and the fight against the evil empire. "Test pilot Tony LeVier found the place by flying over it," says Lovick. "It was a lake bed called Groom Lake, selected for testing because it was flat and far from anything. It was kept secret because the CIA tested U-2s there."

When Frances Gary Powers was shot down over Sverdlovsk, Russia, in 1960, the U-2 program lost its cover. But the CIA already had Lovick and some 200 scientists, engineers and pilots working at Area 51 on the A-12 OXCART, which would outfox Soviet radar using height, stealth and speed.

Col. Slater was in the outfit of six pilots who flew OXCART missions during the Vietnam War. Over a Cuban meat and cheese sandwich at the Bahama Breeze restaurant off the Las Vegas Strip, he says, "I was recruited for the Area after working with the CIA's classified Black Cat Squadron, which flew U-2 missions over denied territory in Mainland China. After that, I was told, 'You should come out to Nevada and work on something interesting we're doing out there.' "

Even though Slater considers himself a fighter pilot at heart--he flew 84 missions in World War II--the opportunity to work at Area 51 was impossible to pass up. "When I learned about this Mach-3 aircraft called OXCART, it was completely intriguing to me--this idea of flying three times the speed of sound! No one knew a thing about the program. I asked my wife, Barbara, if she wanted to move to Las Vegas, and she said yes. And I said, 'You won't see me but on the weekends,' and she said, 'That's fine!' " At this recollection, Slater laughs heartily. Barbara, dining with us, laughs as well. The two, married for 63 years, are rarely apart today.

"We couldn't have told you any of this a year ago," Slater says. "Now we can't tell it to you fast enough." That is because in 2007, the CIA began declassifying the 50-year-old OXCART program. Today, there's a scramble for eyewitnesses to fill in the information gaps. Only a few of the original players are left. Two more of them join me and the Slaters for lunch: Barnes, formerly an Area 51 special-projects engineer, with his wife, Doris; and Martin, one of those overseeing the OXCART's specially mixed jet fuel (regular fuel explodes at extreme height, temperature and speed), with his wife, Mary. Because the men were sworn to secrecy for so many decades, their wives still get a kick out of hearing the secret tales.

Barnes was married at 17 (Doris was 16). To support his wife, he became an electronics wizard, buying broken television sets, fixing them up and reselling them for five times the original price. He went from living in bitter poverty on a Texas Panhandle ranch with no electricity to buying his new bride a dream home before he was old enough to vote. As a soldier in the Korean War, Barnes demonstrated an uncanny aptitude for radar and Nike missile systems, which made him a prime target for recruitment by the CIA--which indeed happened when he was 22. By 30, he was handling nuclear secrets.

"The agency located each guy at the top of a certain field and put us together for the programs at Area 51," says Barnes. As a security precaution, he couldn't reveal his birth name--he went by the moniker Thunder. Coworkers traveled in separate cars, helicopters and airplanes. Barnes and his group kept to themselves, even in the mess hall. "Our special-projects group was the most classified team since the Manhattan Project," he says.

Harry Martin's specialty was fuel. Handpicked by the CIA from the Air Force, he underwent rigorous psychological and physical tests to see if he was up for the job. When he passed, the CIA moved his family to Nevada. Because OXCART had to refuel frequently, the CIA kept supplies at secret facilities around the globe. Martin often traveled to these bases for quality-control checks. He tells of preparing for a top-secret mission from Area 51 to Thule, Greenland. "My wife took one look at me in these arctic boots and this big hooded coat, and she knew not to ask where I was going."

So, what of those urban legends--the UFOs studied in secret, the underground tunnels connecting clandestine facilities? For decades, the men at Area 51 thought they'd take their secrets to the grave. At the height of the Cold War, they cultivated anonymity while pursuing some of the country's most covert projects. Conspiracy theories were left to popular imagination. But in talking with Collins, Lovick, Slater, Barnes and Martin, it is clear that much of the folklore was spun from threads of fact.

As for the myths of reverse engineering of flying saucers, Barnes offers some insight: "We did reverse engineer a lot of foreign technology, including the Soviet MiG fighter jet out at the Area"--even though the MiG wasn't shaped like a flying saucer. As for the underground-tunnel talk, that, too, was born of truth. Barnes worked on a nuclear-rocket program called Project NERVA, inside underground chambers at Jackass Flats, in Area 51's backyard. "Three test-cell facilities were connected by railroad, but everything else was underground," he says.

And the quintessential Area 51 conspiracy--that the Pentagon keeps captured alien spacecraft there, which they fly around in restricted airspace? Turns out that one's pretty easy to debunk. The shape of OXCART was unprece-dented, with its wide, disk-like fuselage designed to carry vast quantities of fuel. Commercial pilots cruising over Nevada at dusk would look up and see the bottom of OXCART whiz by at 2,000-plus mph. The aircraft's tita-nium body, moving as fast as a bullet, would reflect the sun's rays in a way that could make anyone think, UFO.

In all, 2,850 OXCART test flights were flown out of Area 51 while Slater was in charge. "That's a lot of UFO sightings!" Slater adds. Commercial pilots would report them to the FAA, and "when they'd land in California, they'd be met by FBI agents who'd make them sign nondisclosure forms." But not everyone kept quiet, hence the birth of Area 51's UFO lore. The sightings incited uproar in Nevada and the surrounding areas and forced the Air Force to open Project BLUE BOOK to log each claim.

Since only a few Air Force officials were cleared for OXCART (even though it was a joint CIA/USAF project), many UFO sightings raised internal military alarms. Some generals believed the Russians might be sending stealth craft over American skies to incite paranoia and create widespread panic of alien invasion. Today, BLUE BOOK findings are housed in 37 cubic feet of case files at the National Archives--74,000 pages of reports. A keyword search brings up no mention of the top-secret OXCART or Area 51.

Project BLUE BOOK was shut down in 1969--more than a year after OXCART was retired. But what continues at America's most clandestine military facility could take another 40 years to disclose.

UFOs not grounded by iceland volcanic ash

You'd think this would be really good evidence, given the complete lack of other possible air traffic at this time....

UFOS obviously hadn’t got the UK-wide ‘no fly zone’ message from air traffic controllers, as an unexplained object was spotted in the skies above Ware.

Despite the volcanic ash cloud from Iceland grounding conventional aircraft, the close encounter took place on Thursday at around 9.15pm. Eyewitness Lesley Weir claims to have spied a “light in the sky”.

She wrote on a UFO-watchers’ website: “On a night with no aircraft flying, I witnessed a light in the sky through my conservatory roof coming from the north, I then went to the front of house and saw the same light travelling south. There was no noise and it was travelling around the same speed as a plane.”

She said the mystery object was “round and orange with a white centre”.

Ms Weir added: “I am sure this is not a Chinese lantern I have seen them before.”

4 large triangles hover over San Diego

A California witness saw four, large triangle UFOs over San Diego, CA, on April 8, 2010, that were described as she was driving along the 15 North freeway heading North from South San Diego (around Naval Base), according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) database.

The report was made by her husband while the woman was observing the UFOs.

“This was at dusk initially where she was able to make out a definitive triangle shape,” the reporting witness stated. “As darkness settled in the triangles became WHITE lights in the sky merging in and out of 1.”

The objects were slow moving and silent.

“The motion she described as being very slow…almost at a standstill and hovering. No sound of propulsion as they were silent.”

The following is the unedited and as yet uninvestigated report filed with MUFON. Please keep in mind that most UFO reports can be explained as something natural or manmade. If California MUFON investigates and reports back on this case, I will release an update.

CA, April 8, 2010 – Wife watching 4 triangle UFO’s glowing red in San Diego right now. MUFON Case # 22723.

****In order to rush this report off I will be brief, please contact for amplifying information***

4 Large Triangle UFO’s currently hovering over San Diego, CA in the Clairmont Mesa area, they are now glowing red. They have merged into one and separated back into 4 again. Wife and 21 year old stepson have eyes on target at this time. I will be trying to get pics/video as soon as possible.

OKAY CORRECTION SHE WAS CONFUSED, OR I MADE A MISTAKE THE LIGHTS WERE WHITE NOT RED. WHITE LIGHTS. I specifically asked her (as I am a 20+ year U.S. Navy combat veteran) if they displayed red lights on left wing, green on right wing, fog landing lights underneath, red light on top of tail section etc…

SHE SAID “Babe…they were TRIANGLE and started as 3…then 4 then merged into one, then it was 2 white lights “in a linear perspective” (I am still trying to get some amplifying information as to what she meant by linear), I understand that as one white light right behind a 2nd one (she said that they were VERY CLOSE as in right next to one another). They did not separate back into 4 again. Right now they are remaining as 2 white lights.

I already made a voice report to Ruben.

Now that I got the initial report off I will do my best to answer your questions.

My wife initially called me at 8:38PM PST from California. She was on the 15 North freeway heading North from South San Diego (around Naval Base)

She stated that she was driving and noticed 3 rather large triangle shaped craft silently hovering at approx. position angle 4 in the sky as she was South on the 15 North freeway looking North towards Clairmont Mesa. This was at dusk initially where she was able to make out a definitive triangle shape. As darkness settled in the triangles became WHITE lights in the sky merging in and out of 1.

The motion she described as being very slow…almost at a standstill and hovering. No sound of propulsion as they were silent. Now we know that Miramar Marine Corp Air Station lies to the North in the direction she was facing. She is a San Diego, CA NATIVE and had NEVER seen any aircraft like that operating in the direction she stated. She knows (having been married to me long enough as a Chief in the U.S. Navy) the difference between helicopters and aircraft.

They were floating triangle bricks basically.

Her feelings were that of pretty intense nervousness. She is still a little shaken up by it. I had always been the sci-fi guy listening to Coast to Coast AM…she would just roll her eyes at my X-Files likeness ;-)

BUT SHE HAS NOW SEEN SOMETHING (which kinda sucks cuz I have never gotten to actually see one). So she is a full believer now.

She broke off contact at approx. 9:30PM San Diego, CA time as she had to be somewhere. But according to her they seemed to be in no hurry to take off or avoid detection so they may still be airborne.

College physics teacher encounters silent triangle UFO

College physics teachers make better witnesses than your run-of-the-mill citizen, i should hope....

A California college physics teacher watched a triangle-shaped UFO that came within several hundred feet and then silently moved away at 9 p.m. on April 15, 2010, in Ventura, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) database.

The instructor first heard a screech sound, then watched the object move quickly across the sky.

"At first it looked like it was a large bird high in the air as the front and two sides were heavily darkened against the mostly dark sky," the witness stated. "It was moving toward me and over a period of about 2 seconds it became clearer and resembled a hang-glider. It was descending and moving toward the east and seemed to be gliding smoothly, making no sound that I could hear."

The witness then described the object as it reached its closest point.

"It was an equilateral triangle and had three circular areas symmetrically placed near the tips. There was a slight contrast between the gray triangular area and the circular areas, as the circular portions had a very faint glowing quality to them."

The object appeared to be two dimensional during this 8-second sighting.

"As it silently continued moving away from me, the craft seemed to have only 2 dimensions. It looked completely flat like it was a projection. It began to gently ripple with smooth wave patterns and disappeared within a little over a second after doing so. The total event lasted around 8 seconds"

On April 7, 2010, the UFO Examiner reported on, California photography student 'grows tired' of frequent UFO traffic.

Ventura is the county seat of Ventura County, population 106,744, in southern, California.

The following is the unedited and as yet uninvestigated report filed with MUFON. Please keep in mind that most UFO reports can be explained as something natural or manmade. If California MUFON investigates and reports back on this case, I will release an update.

***************
case report from MUFON

At approximately 9 P.M. PDT on April 15th, 2010 in Ventura California.

I was looking toward the west at the constellation of Orion when I heard a brief “screech” sound lasting around one second and coming from the vicinity which I was viewing. Thinking it was an owl I quickly looked for it and saw a faint silhouette of something moving in the clear sky.

At first it looked like it was a large bird high in the air as the front and two sides were heavily darkened against the mostly dark sky. It was moving toward me and over a period of about 2 seconds it became clearer and resembled a hang-glider. It was descending and moving toward the east and seemed to be gliding smoothly, making no sound that I could hear.

As it reached its closest point to me, what looked to be several hundred feet or so, a very sharp and definite outline appeared. It was an equilateral triangle and had three circular areas symmetrically placed near the tips. There was a slight contrast between the gray triangular area and the circular areas, as the circular portions had a very faint glowing quality to them.

As it silently continued moving away from me, the craft seemed to have only 2 dimensions. It looked completely flat like it was a projection. It began to gently ripple with smooth wave patterns and disappeared within a little over a second after doing so. The total event lasted around 8 seconds.

I have my master’s degree in physics and teach college level physics as a career. I am also involved in astronomy. I am about 20 minutes drive from a naval base and do hear and see military aircraft from time to time. Though it is possible that I was seeing a “secret aircraft”, I am doubtful that such a craft would be flown in such plain view as it was very apparent what was seen.

Judging from the change in angular diameter, its descent was fairly rapid and it changed from a dark, fluctuating shadow into a crisp configuration, lightly contrasted against the clear dark sky. I would estimate the base of the triangle to be around 50 feet, though I could be way off. Once leveled off at around 500 feet, it glided forward at perhaps 100 miles per hour until it disappeared from sight somewhat like a mirage does.

The measured angle from the horizontal at which the craft began to wave out of sight was around 20 degrees. It all happened very fast and was short in duration, making it difficult to be definite on measurements. All in all, I saw a craft without doubt and I am perplexed by what I have seen.

UFO sighting over Geelong caught on video

Haven't had a chance to check out the video because I'm posting this from work and they've blocked it.

Jessica Craven

April 22nd, 2010
Strange lights have been spotted in the sky over Geelong.

BREAKING NEWS AMAZING footage captured by a Highton businessman shows mystery balls of light zigzagging across Corio Bay, prompting speculation it was UFOs.
Businessman Anthony Raduka filmed the footage from the deck of his Highton home about midnight on Monday.

The footage shows balls of light flying over Corio Bay at great speed, dipping as low as street level before zigzagging back up through the sky.

The balls change colour and shape during the 20 mins of footage recorded.

Mr Raduka said the light was too fast to be an aircraft and it travelled in irregular directions.

What are your thoughts on this story? Tell us using the feedback form below

``We have watched fighter jets from our deck when the airshow is on and these lights were going ten times quicker,'' he said.

``It could be a UFO, I don't know what they are. All of the things we thought of didn't explain the fact it changed colour or that it was going so fast.''

Mr Raduka said he had never seen anything like it in his life.

``We just stood there for about half an hour, trying to work out what it could be,'' he said.

``They go over rooftops so they are too low to be an aircraft.''

Watch the footage and tell us what you think it is.

UFO damages teen's car?

I'm inclined, having once been a teenager, to think this is made up. But it is worthy of further investigation....

By JOHN KOZIOL
jkoziol@citizen.com

Already well-known throughout the world as being the host of Bike Week, Laconia recently added another item to its resume when a local girl and her boyfriend claimed their car was picked up into the air and then dropped by an Unidentified Flying Object (UFO).

While The Citizen’s attempts to reach the youths were unsuccessful, a Laconia Police Department report states that Off. Adam Batstone responded at 12:17 a.m. on March 21 to the residence of Linda Dutile where he made contact with her daughter, Emily Moore, 18, and Moore’s 16-year-old boyfriend.

Moore, Batstone wrote, was “very upset” and told him that, a short while earlier, she and her boyfriend had been parked at Opechee Park in her mother’s Ford Focus, looking out toward the lake, when “all of a sudden a dark object started to float across the sky in front of them.”

The object passed over them and returned, Moore said, and, when she and her boyfriend attempted to put the car in reverse, “the vehicle started to shake violently and the windshield smashed as though something had hit it and the air bags went off.”

There was no one around, Moore stated, and, upon questioning by Batstone, she said a bird had not struck the windshield.

“They never saw anything actually strike the car, they just saw the dark object in front of them, heard the windshield smash and the car shake violently and all of the sudden it felt like the car had dropped back down into the parking space. Moore said that she knew it sounded impossible or incredible, but that’s what happened,” said Batstone.

Batstone inspected the exterior of the vehicle and found no signs of impact on the windshield, adding that the dirt on the car was undisturbed. A check of the interior showed “no indications that any sort of impact had happened” but the damage on the windshield was “consistent with the cover to the air bag being launched into the windshield when the passenger side air bag had deployed.”

Batstone next went to Opechee Park where he searched the area of the incident but failed to find any evidence — birds, animals or broken glass or lens covers — “to indicate that a collision had occurred.”

In conclusion, “I request this case be cleared due to no criminal aspect,” Batstone wrote.

As of Friday evening, however, the case remains uncleared because of a discrepancy between where Moore told Batstone the incident allegedly occurred and where she and her boyfriend later told UFO investigators it happened — namely the parking lot at Funspot — said Laconia Police Chief Mike Moyer.

Moyer, who spoke with the UFO investigators and who has a copy of the account Moore and her boyfriend gave of the alleged March 20 event, said Batstone will be meeting soon with both of them to ask about the Opechee Park/ Funspot situation.

The testimony of Moore and her boyfriend is available online at the National UFO Reporting Center, www.nuforc.org.

A Funspot representative said nothing like what Moore and her boyfriend described happened at the facility. “It’s a hoax,” the representative said; “it never occurred at Funspot.”

“The long and short,” said Moyer, “is that we got this call to Opechee Park and the officer basically closed the case because there was nothing for us to do; and then I got a call from the UFO guys and they came and took statements and I didn’t realize until yesterday in reading the statement they [Moore and her boyfriend] gave the UFO people the discrepancy in what they told the police.”

There was no mention of a UFO, Moyer said, until the investigators contacted him.

Steve Firmani of the Mutual UFO Network New England, which several online articles reported had spoken with Moore and her boyfriend, was not available for comment.

In his remarks to the NUFORC, Moore’s boyfriend, who is identified only as “D,” said he and Moore went to the Funspot parking lot around 11 p.m. on March 20 because “we wanted to look at the stars.”

“D” said he observed an object that “blocked the moon” and that changed shapes and whose size he estimated to be “as big as 14 houses.” “D” said he attempted to drive away, but “The front end got picked up and the car could not move. We steered left and right but the car just kept going up into the air.”

As the car rose, “D” said, he felt “something” yank his wrist but “Not aggressively” while in his head, “something was telling me ‘Don’t panic,’ or ‘Don’t be scared.’ And it wasn’t in English in my head but I got the meaning.”

There was a smell and “D” said his ears “felt like they kept on popping from the altitude.” The force that was tugging on his wrist, “D” said, then intensified. When the car horn accidentally sounded, the grip lessened, he said, and when the horn beeped again, “D” realized “we were still up in the air! It took 2 seconds for the car to drop.”

“All this took place from 11 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.,” D” said, but “It seemed like we were in the air for 10 minutes and it felt like it was forever.”

Moore, who is identified in the NUFORC report as “E,” recalled seeing “a weird black-shaped object” in the Funspot lot. She, too, recounted there being a smell and also of being “immobilized like I had no control over what I was doing or over my body.” Moore said that, after Batstone left, it was determined that the underside of the car was “totaled.”

Both Moore and her boyfriend concluded their comments by saying they are scared and don’t want to go out at night anymore.

A Laconia police officer for the past 25 years and chief for almost three, Moyer confirmed that his department has in the past received “a couple of reports” of UFOs, although they were never substantiated.

Asked whether there was anything seemingly extraterrestrial in what allegedly happened on March 20 at either Opechee Park or at Funspot, Moyer said there wasn’t.

“We did not put out an APB [all points bulletin] for a flying saucer that night,” he said, adding that, while he has seen UFOs “many times”— things he could not readily identify — he had never seen an alien spacecraft.

“I don’t believe in UFOs. Why do they always come down in a rural area? Why don’t they land in the middle of New York City? The day one lands on the Boston Common is the day I’ll believe.”

Neither Dutile nor Moore was available for comment Friday. Calls to telephone numbers that the women provided to police produced recorded messages saying the telephone numbers were out of service.

In the meantime, Laconia’s alleged UFO incident remains under investigation.

While Chief Moyer does not believe in UFOs, nearly 20,000 hits on the UFO Examiner’s article on the incident shows a lot of other people do.

Two New Hampshire teenagers sitting in a parked car were approached by a black-colored UFO in Laconia on March 20, 2010, lifted into the air and then dropped back onto pavement 180 feet away, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) database.

MUFON New England State Director Steve Firmani confirmed his investigation of the case today by telephone and said witness interviews had been completed.

The 18-year-old girl and 16-year-old boy both offer testimony about their encounter.

The two used the girl's mother's car and went to a Laconia destination that has not been released.

"We were just sitting there and I looked up at the moon," the female witness stated. "I saw this weird black-shaped object. And then, I said to my boyfriend, 'What was that?'”

Both accounts describe the same events. They saw an object coming toward them from the sky and began to panic. When they attempted to drive away, the car they were operating was lifted up off the ground. Both describe an odd smell during the incident.

When the car hit the pavement 180 feet away, the windshield cracked and the air bags deployed.

Firmani said there was no damage to the body of the car, but that there was about $5,000 damage to the underside of the car.

The male witness descibed the UFO.

"I don’t know how to explain this but it turns into a ball when it wants to slow down and move around quickly and when it wants to go fast, straight, it turns into a flat plate with maze box-shaped lined lights. These were on all the time."

He describes attempting to drive away.

"The front end got picked up and the car could not move. We steered left and right but the car just kept on going up into the air."

When the car hit the ground, they drove quickly away to the girl's home where her mother called the police.

Firmani said there were three-inch divets in the curbing at the impact point where the car hit the ground. He said further study would be made to the under carriage body parts, which MUFON has retained from the body shop.

Laconia is a city in Belknap County, New Hampshire, population 16,411,

This case was originally reported to Peter Davenport at the National UFO Reporting Center. Davenport referred the case to Firmani. The following is the witness testimony from this case.

“My name is E and I’m eighteen years old. I live in Laconia. Last Saturday night, my boyfriend D came up to see me and we went out. When we got to (edited), in Laconia, we parked in the back in the separate parking lot. We turned off the car and it was totally silent.

We were just sitting there and I looked up at the moon. I saw this weird black-shaped object. And then, I said to my boyfriend, “What was that?”

He looked up at it and he said, ”If it gets any closer, we need to leave.”

I kept staring at the moon to see if it was just a plane or something. It moved back across the moon. It was huge and it looked like it was zig-zagging or changing shape. I couldn’t tell.

He said, “I think it’s coming closer.” It flew so fast over the trees getting closer to where we were. It felt like it was zeroing in on us. It blocked the moon. And then, we started panicking and driving away.

I thought were were going to hit the Bingo building. We turned left but it felt like we went off of a jump – you know that feeling? like we were on a rollercoaster? And we were in the air. I was trying to pay attention to everything that was going on but it felt like I couldn’t. When I looked up, everything was black. The smell was not nice but it was like something you could stand. It was an odor I’ve never smelled before. I heard absolutely nothing – it was silent. I felt immobilized like I had no control over what I was doing or over my body. I could see nothing. It was like opening your eyes in a pitch black room.

I felt really nervous and scared. I don’t remember crying or screaming. I held on to the center console because I felt like I was lifted. I was holding on so tight that my thumbprint is imprinted on the center console.

And then, when I finally realized what was happening, I was so close to the windshield that my body was going forward with my arms behind me. Everything was black. I heard a loud noise like a horn. Once. And then, the car just dropped.

I hit my eye on the dashboard and the airbags came out. I couldn’t believe what had just happened. I held my face and I looked over at my boyfriend. I saw that his left arm had blood. I said, “Are you OK?” I looked at the windshield and it was cracked, totally, but only on the passenger side.

I could see D but I couldn’t see anything outside. The only thing that made the car drop was the sound of the loud horn. When the car dropped, there was a loud boom. After that, we just drove so fast out of there. The smell went away after we drove away. And I started crying. And I said, “What the h—l just happened?” My boyfriend said, “I don’t know, I don’t know.” I didn’t feel like they were following us.

When we got home, my Mom said that she could hear me from the outside while I was freaking out. I couldn’t stop crying. My Mom said, “Calm down and tell me what happened.” I said, “You’re never going to believe me.” “Is it my car?” she asked.

And I said, “Let me explain,” because I felt that if I didn’t explain it fast enough, it was just going to go away from my mind.

At about 12:15 am, a cop arrived. I told him what had happened while I was sitting down at the dinner table. My boyfriend was sitting next to me – it was then that I noticed that there was no more blood on his arm or his clothing. The cop didn’t believe me at first until he finished looking at the car. He told my Mom that there was no reason for the air bags to come out because nothing else on the car was damaged. He didn’t check underneath the car but we found out later that the underside was totaled. The cop said that he was going to the place where we had been.

I just felt thankful that we’d gotten out of there. But I couldn’t stop crying for more than 2 hours afterwards. My Mom said, “You should go take a shower and get the airbag dust off of you.” But I didn’t want to be alone at all. I felt lucky. And there were no scratches or anything anywhere on my body.

The first night, my dream was that I was a little girl, maybe 6 or 7 years old, in an Elementary School classroom. I was looking at myself as a little girl. And then it was like the teacher called me up and I couldn’t talk or say anything - but everybody else seemed to say something for me. Like everything I wanted to say, everybody else was saying it except for me. They were saying exactly what I wanted say. I have never had a dream like this before – where I am a little girl and see anything about the past. I did not feel right at all.

I am better now. I still worry about seeing this thing again and I pay attention to the sky at night. I really don’t go out at night, anymore, because I’m scared. “

2nd Witness Account:

My name is D. I am sixteen years old and I live in New Hampshire. Last Saturday night I went out with my girlfriend, who lives in Laconia, when we had the following experience:

I was with her around 11. We wanted to take her Mom’s car because it was nicer and we wanted to go look at the stars. We went to (edited) at the back parking lot in Laconia. There were 8 cars already there when we arrived. Little by little, the cars started leaving one by one. We were the last car in the parking lot. Then the lights of the parking lot and the lights of the houses around us and the lights of the houses down the street started to go out one by one.

Then my girlfriend noticed something blocking the moon and asked, "What was that?" I knew it wasn’t a cloud because it moved back against the wind and blocked the moon again. I don’t know how to explain this but it turns into a ball when it wants to slow down and move around quickly and when it wants to go fast, straight, it turns into a flat plate with maze box-shaped lined lights. These were on all the time.

The colors were dim yellowish white and did not change. I cannot tell whether these were part of the bottom or not. It flipped a lot. I did not know which side was right or up on it. It was doing this over the trees across the street from the parking lot. It suddenly crossed the street towards our car. Its size was as big as 14 houses. It was really quiet. That’s when we had to leave. But I did not have time to turn on the headlights.

We put the clutch in to start the car and jammed it into 1st and floored it. The front end got picked up and the car could not move. We steered left and right but the car just kept on going up into the air. My girlfriend was scared and she had boogers coming out of her nose while I was cursing. The car was going up and the back wheels were off of the ground. Then I looked out of my window and saw that the parking lot park lines started getting smaller. Both our windows were down this whole time. The front windshield started to crack and shake and the cracks spread from the passenger side to the driver’s side. It popped outwards like it was pulled out.

Something yanked my wrist. Not aggressively. And the whole time in my head something was telling me “Don’t panic,” or “Don’t be scared.” And it wasn’t in English in my head but I got the meaning. It wasn’t a language – I don’t know how to explain it. And on my girlfriend’s side, it had her half-way out of the window. Her butt was off of her seat, maybe one-and-a-half or two feet? and the car was pointed almost completely straight up at the stars – yet I saw no stars.

Every time I tried looking at it, in front, a white film went over my eyes. It was kind of like staring at the sun with your eyelids closed. I could not hear her screaming but I know that she was screaming. My ears felt like they kept on popping from the altitude. I couldn’t hear. The smell was like unbearable, like you want to close your nose. It was spicy, like pepper-sprayish, and clean at the same time – it was a smell that you could stand but you would close your nostrils because it still smells bad.

When I tried to fight and get my wrist back in the car, that’s when the grip got stronger. It was pulling my left arm up out of the window – there was no pain but it was strong – …. I was trying to fight off the grip on my wrist. My tongue was numb. The horn beeped by accident and the grip got a little loose. It beeped again in the struggle and my arm flopped down in the car. My girlfriend also fell back in her seat and we realized we were still up in the air. !

It took 2 seconds for the car to drop. When we dropped, the air bags came out. We floored it as fast as we could through the town. It was almost a straightaway to go to my girlfriend’s house with very few turns to take. During this time, both of us couldn’t stop crying. We arrived at her house and her Mom asked, “What happened?” All this took place from 11pm to 12:30 am. It seemed like we were in the air for 10 minutes and it felt like it was forever. Her Mom called the police, and a policeman came.

The policeman did not believe us when we first told him what had happened until he looked at the vehicle. There were no scratches or dents or anything. He said that there was no reason for this to have happened to the car when there are no dents or scratches and no reason for the windshield to shatter and pop out the way it did. He had no explanation for why the windshield popped outwards. Also, when I went to open my cell phone in front of the policemen, I got shocked by it.

On Monday, I went to my doctor to get a whole physical to make sure I was OK. My wrist had a puncture wound while my forearm has a cut that is semi-circular and there’s blood on it. I do remember that when I first looked at my arm after I got it back in the car, it was red with blood. But by the time we got to my girlfriend’s house, there was no blood anywhere. On the center consul of the car, there is an imprint of her hand. I don’t quite understand what the policeman said but it was something about the skin of her hand leaving an impression.

Now, I don’t like to feel bumps in the car, or feel anything that trembles like a boombox. I don’t want to be out in dark areas at night. I also don’t like to walk out to my Mom’s car, anymore, outside. “

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - A Nacogdoches man gazed into Sunday night's sky, and was transfixed by mysterious bright shapes. He says he saw a UFO. "It was just sitting up there, just bouncing up and down, bouncing up and down, moving back and fourth," said Albert Davis.

He was driving home from work with his family when bright, flickering lights caught his eye. "We knew it wasn't from here on Earth because...we've seen jets flying around and I don't think [it was] jets," said Davis. "We knew jets couldn't make the moves it was making."

Davis says the UFO hovered above his apartment for two hours. Then, he spotted more. "And, one was over there and one was in the back out there - pretty good distance out in the back," he said. "It was just following us."

Davis believes what he saw was a flying saucer. He says he has never seen anything like it light up the night sky before. "[It] changed colors, threw something out of it, made a circle, it just made a circle and it shot back down toward the east way [and] disappeared," said Davis.

Astronomer Norman Markworth studies the East Texas sky. He says there is a logical explanation for this sighting. "There's a well-known psychological phenomena that if you look at something bright against a blank background it might appear to move on you," explained Markworth. "So, I feel certain that what we have here is a sighting of Venus."

Despite what anyone thinks, Davis says he knows exactly what he saw and will never forget. "Now, I'll probably look into space every night wondering if it's going to return or what's going to happen next," he said.

Davis says he is a little nervous after his UFO sighting and has had trouble sleeping.

Russian politician is adbuctee?

Well, if I had to guess without more info, I'd say this guy was wacked, but I'd need more info to say definitively....

Thu, May 6 11:44 AM

London, May 6 (IANS) A Russian politician has made the startling claim that he was taken on a spaceship where he met aliens who wore yellow spacesuits.

Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, the leader of the country's southern region of Kalymkia, has spoken about his having met aliens at a primetime television show.

He said he was taken on a spaceship sent to Earth and met extra-terrestrials wearing yellow spacesuits, The Sun reported Thursday.

Ilyumzhinov told Channel One April 26 that he had spent several hours in the company of aliens, who visited his apartment in Moscow Sep 18, 1997.

He said that he was about to fall asleep when someone called out to him from the balcony. He went out and said he saw the 'half-transparent half tube' spaceship. He went in and met human-like creatures, who gave him a tour of their spaceship.

'I am often asked which language I used to talk to them. Perhaps, it was on a level of the exchange of ideas,' he was quoted as saying.

He said aliens had come to Earth to take samples.

Russian MP Andre Lebedev has sought a probe into the claims and demanded formulation of guidelines on what politicians should do if they are kidnapped by aliens.

ever hear of the Ripperston Farmhouse UFO?

Me Neither! I hadn't heard previously of this encounter, reprinted from NewsBlaze.
It's retold a bit breathlessly, but it's still a fascinating story for all that, as it has almost everything possible to have in UFO stories: strange lights, multiple witnesses & sightings over several days, terrifying encounters with 7+ foot tall bipedal weirdnesses, USOs, secret underground bases, military covert ops, and MIBs!

Ripperston Farmhouse UFO Phenomena - The British Roswell?
buzz reddit digg care2 stumbleupon

By Ian Brockwell

Although the UFO activity seen at Ripperston Farmhouse happened some time ago (1977), it is probably one of the most important events seen in Britain, and whilst it is not as famous as the Roswell incident many years earlier, it certainly warrants a great deal more attention.

My brother, Nigel Brockwell, has had an interest in UFO's and the Paranormal for many years and was taking a holiday in Wales when he read about Ripperston Farmhouse. He had decided on a more scenic route for his return journey and this took him close to the farm.

Not knowing what response he would receive, he decided to call in at the farm for a chat with the occupants.

He was greeted by Mrs. Pauline Coomb who invited him in, and she introduced him to her husband, Billy. What struck Nigel the most was the couple's apparent honesty about the information they were giving, and their lack of interest in profiting from the story (quite a rare thing nowadays).

Ripperston Farm UFO Sightings

It should be pointed out that the UFO activity around the farm was not a one-off event, but a series of experiences that occurred between mid January and mid December 1977.

Although the Ripperston farm is situated in a rather isolated area of South Wales, there were (are) a number of high security (perhaps top secret) military bases close by. According to the records, UFO's were reported over these bases and the military were involved in some "unusual" activities and searches.

The Ripperston Farmhouse story began on the 14th of January 1977, when Pauline Coomb saw a "great ball of incandescent light, hanging motionless over the field near the cliff top". It was not unusual to see strange lights in the sky (because of the military activity), but this was different.

After approximately twenty minutes the light started to move, swinging from side to side (much like a pendulum), as it got nearer to the ground and disappearing below the cliff.

Pauline woke up her husband (who was sleeping in a chair at the time) and he went to the cliff top path to search for whatever the object was. Unfortunately, he found nothing.

The following day newspapers were carrying the story of UFO sightings. Although Billy didn't really believe that his wife's "light" was a "flying saucer", he did admit that there were some strange things going on. He was quoted as saying "There were as many as fifty frogmen below the cliff. Unmarked army trucks, soldiers in camouflage. The Navy was there too...building some sort of path beneath the water. This doesn't make sense!"

Clinton, Pauline's eldest son, commented on a strange humming noise coming from outside the bathroom window which would enter and fill the whole room.

Two schoolboys claimed to have seen a dome shaped UFO with "pulsating green and yellow lights" hovering over a building in Haverfordwest. They also approached a blue light in a field near their school, which flew off at speed when they got nearer.

Fourteen other schoolboys also saw a landed UFO near their school and a "silver" figure near the craft. They described the craft as having ten or eleven windows and a kind of ramp leading from a door.

One Friday evening, as Pauline and Billy were watching a movie on television, Pauline was distracted by a flickering light in the window, and the whining of their dog Blackie. The light was still there after an hour, and Billy (who had fallen asleep) was woken by what he thought was car headlights. He then noticed a "shimmering figure" of a man at the window.

The figure was wearing a silver suit and apparently seven foot tall. It didn't move and just seemed to be staring inside. Billy commented that there was only blackness where the face should have been, and it sounded as if the man at the window was wearing a helmet with a shaded visor (much like astronauts would use).

A little while later the figure at the window raised a gloved hand to the glass, which started to rattle. At the same time the lights dimmed and the television stopped working.

Billy managed to call his neighbour and the police, and when the police siren could be heard approaching the farm, the figure vanished.

The following morning Pauline discovered "a scorched rose bush in the flower bed and huge footprints beneath the window"

A newspaper reported a sighting involving a "Jelly Mould" shaped UFO in a garden near the farm, which was said to be fifteen feet high and fifty feet wide.

The Unexplained ExploredShortly after reading this in the newspaper, Pauline's friend, Rosa, telephoned to say that she had seen a dome shaped UFO in a field near the hotel where she worked. It produced a light and two tall, human like, figures got out and appeared to be searching for something on the ground.

The description of the figures seemed to match the one seen at Pauline and Billy's window. Rosa said the figures returned to the craft after about twenty minutes and it flew off at great speed, in the direction of the farm.

Sightings of dome shaped UFO's and figures in silver suits continued, and on one occasion the Coomb's son, Keiron, claimed to see a "tall dark, fluid-like shape" in the front room of their farmhouse.

However, a sighting on the 12th of November was perhaps the most bizarre of all. After seeing a UFO (in the daytime) perform some spectacular manoeuvres, it suddenly plunged into the sea by the famous Stack Rocks.

Pauline took her kids with her to investigate this further from the cliff tops, and on the rocks below she saw two figures in silver suits, who she estimated to be between eight to twelve feet tall. She noticed a "door" in the rocks, where one of the figures emerged and they moved around the base of the rock. After the figures returned through the door, it faded away and could no longer be seen.

On returning home, Pauline received a call from her friend Rosa. Apparently, she had been looking at Stack Rocks with her binoculars and saw a "silvery" UFO fly into an entrance on the Rock. Sometime later silver-suited figures came out of the opening in the Rock and climbed down to the sea and back again several times.

After one more sighting on the 19th of December 1977, the UFO activity came to an end at the Ripperston Farmhouse.

Did these events really happen? It would certainly seem so, but whether this involved Aliens or advanced military equipment and personnel we cannot say for sure.

Considering these events happened more than 32 years ago, and not that long after the moon landing, it seems unlikely that the military would have such crafts. We can only assume that a more advanced race was responsible for these sightings, and were working with the knowledge of the military.

If this is true, it supports the belief of a cover-up and indicates how long this has been going on. It also asks the question of why this is being kept a secret. Do aliens want to keep their presence a secret from the general public, or do some of our leaders insist on this (for personal gain)?

The fact that people are still reporting UFO sightings might suggest that if aliens are involved, they are not that worried about being spotted. However, the authorities take a much more defensive role and make every effort to keep information from us.

It would be nice to think the authorities have our interests at heart in keeping this information secret, but knowing the government and politicians as we do, that is very unlikely.

There is a growing feeling on the internet that something "major" is about to break shortly on the subject of UFO's and Aliens, and my personal view is that this will be good news, although maybe not for everyone.

more Euclid Ohio nighttime sightings

more euclid ohio sightings; video is not all that impressive and I still think Nick Pope is a disinfo specialist...

EUCLID, Ohio -- For the sixth consecutive night, Eugene Erlikh said a bizarre series of lights flickered outside his apartment building window. "It gets bright, bright, bright," said Erlikh, 20. "Different colors and then it gets dim and as soon as it gets dim, it starts moving from there, this way."

Erlikh said the unexplained light show has appeared in the skies over Lake Erie for six nights and his friend, Nick Hausen, was also a witness. "At first, I figured it was just a star but the way it would move, it would move so fast, I've never seen anything like it."

FOX 8 took the video and pictures to Richard Lee. He is a member of a Cleveland-based UFO club who has tracked the possibility of an alien life form for decades. "The camera is shaking," said Lee. "There's not the controls that you would like to have to do a really in-depth analysis of the video."

However, the self-proclaimed UFO expert said anything is possible because Ohio has a long history of sightings. "It's probably in the top 5 or 10 states as far as the number of sightings and the people involved."

Lee said it's all in the eye of the beholder. But the head of the National UFO Reporting Center said more people need to see it and more research is necessary before it makes anyone else a true believer.

"I couldn't say what it is, I'm not an astronomer," said Erlikh. "I have absolutely no expertise in this field, but I can guarantee you that it is not human!"

FOX 8 checked with NASA's Glenn Research Center. A spokesperson said they have a few aircraft that perform routine testing, but those planes were not flying the past few nights.

MUFON covering up evidence?

again, given the source is allnewsweb, a bit of skepticism is in order, but this is an intriguing claim nonetheless.
The long and short of it is that MUFON has ties to Bigelow Airspace, and several folks have claimed that MUFON has covered up valuable evidence of UFO visitations.

While a cynic such as myself would not be at all surprised if this were true, as usual allnewsweb is long on the allegations and short on the evidence.

The article is also muddied by a side issue concerning the age-old (and for me, stale) argument about Roswell. I don't give a rat's ass about Roswell anymore, there are much more interesting and compelling cases. Even so, so many deathbed confessions lately that seem to support the Roswell story make me slightly trend towards belief that it was an ET crash, but again, who cares when there are way better cases out there.

yes, I get a lot of stuff from allnewsweb, but having to work for a living I don't always (read, seldom if ever) have the time to do my own independent research. Sigh, maybe when I win the lotto....
anyway, an intriguing and historically relevant photo -- 1990 was when the Bob Lazar story first broke, so A51 was probably still being utilized at that point in time....
